How I find free softwares on the Internet

It's been a hard time financially, also I am not able to distinguish between so much of variety of softwares available on the net, which one to choose ? Atleast, I made up mind that I will not buy any software now, because there is no need to ! Wonder how ? Whenever required, I visit below listed sites and find/free download a software according to my need. 1. Visit pcworld.com : Click Download tab, then select operating system, License Type (i.e. Free) and category from respective drop downs given below. That's it, all the available freeware softwares will be listed and download them for free. 2. Visit sourceforge.net : This is a free open source download and develop software site. Nice categories and excellent collection of softwares like GIMP, Notepad++, emule etc. From individual to business, all kind of free software/suites are there. This site also contains some valuable stuff for LINUX users too. 3. Visit softarchive.net : Before mentioning about this site, I urge that stop piracy! buy commercial/licensed softwares, if you can do. Now, this site contains the updated download links (rapidshare/fileupload/hotfile/upload etc.) of all the softwares. Yes, all means all, not only softwares but also games, videos, ebooks, mobile stuff, humor etc. New updated full versions, very wide network of people who post download links, well maintained etc. are some its features. But pls stop piracy, visit this site, only if you can't really pay for the software. 4. Visit freshwap.net : Exactly same description as for the above site. Again I urge that stop piracy! buy commercial/licensed softwares, if you can do. 5. Visit filehippo.com : Now this is the site which I visit very often, It contains all the links of the best freeware softwares available in the market. Here 'all' means link of every version (current or previous) of a software. It contains wide variety of freeware softwares that are mostly used. I discovered CCleaner(handy software, must for everyone) from this site only. 6. Or else just google 'freeware' or 'freeware softwares' etc. and one can find lots of freeware sites containing millions of freeware but very useful applications. Really, today Internet has changed the world, anything/everything is available free on the net, just one has to discover it. Have a nice day ahead! |

I agree with you that there is an endless supply of freeware and shareware software around the internet. However I think that with the obvious risks of downloading and installing free software, you have failed to advise readers of the potential risks of these types of downloads.

No software (whether paid or free) is risk free, different softwares are associated with different types of risks........they can't be generalized into few lines....main idea behind this Intel is to provide the information about various trustworthy source to download an application/software, when in need...
